Mercedes’ commitment to the legal profession originates from her profound appreciation of its pivotal role in business. As an articling student, she wholeheartedly dedicates her passion to empowering businesses and professionals of all levels. Her mission is to assist them in navigating the intricate web of intellectual property and corporate legalities, enabling them to achieve their business objectives and thrive in the highly competitive contemporary landscape. While Mercedes primarily focuses on corporate law, she maintains a keen interest in intellectual property matters. Mercedes firmly believes in an innovative and solution-oriented approach to legal challenges, consistently striving to provide clients with the best possible guidance.

During her time in law school, Mercedes was honoured to serve as the Vice-President of the Jewish Law Students’ Association from 2020 to 2023. This experience allowed her to cultivate valuable connections and engage in meaningful discussions within the legal community.
She also had the privilege of participating in the Allies in Law Mentorship Program, further reinforcing her commitment to supporting and guiding those seeking legal expertise.

One of her most unique experiences was participating in the Leclair/uOttawa 2L Metaverse Moot, the first virtual reality moot in Canada, where she had the opportunity to delve into the fascinating world of virtual reality law.

Beyond the legal sphere, Mercedes advocates for maintaining a well-rounded life. Staying physically active is a priority for her, whether she’s hitting the gym or embarking on urban hikes to explore the city.

She’s an avid reader, particularly enjoying historical fiction, as it offers a glimpse into different eras and perspectives. In the kitchen, Mercedes has honed her culinary skills, with a career highlight being her pumpkin-spiced cheesecake and the best miso chocolate chip cookies you’ll ever taste. Lastly, she’s on a mission to watch 2,000 movies, meticulously tracking her cinematic journey on Letterboxd.
