Experience
Zach Nickels specializes in intellectual property law, advising clients on a broad range of IP issues, both contentious and non-contentious. As part of Dipchand LLP’s IP litigation team, Zach plays a key role in resolving IP infringement disputes and supporting clients in litigation matters before the Federal Court of Canada and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, including the Small Claims Court and Commercial List. His expertise extends to managing various aspects of intellectual property, helping clients protect and enforce their rights across multiple legal arenas.
In his corporate solicitor practice, Zach provides strategic legal counsel on commercial relationships involving IP, along with advising on contractual and privacy matters. Combining his technical background with his legal expertise, Zach provides businesses with practical solutions to protect, maximize, and enforce the value of their intellectual property in a constantly evolving marketplace.
Prior to obtaining his JD from Western University, Zach completed his BHK (Hons. Movement Science) at the University of Windsor and an MSc in Integrative Biosciences at Western University. During law school, Zach was a student coordinator at the Western Law Dispute Resolution Centre and competed in several moot competitions, including the 2019 Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot, where he was awarded Top Respondent Factum and received the 2019 Tim Edgar Memorial Award.
